Ultimate Chocolate Candies Cookies

2 sticks butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour**
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1 12oz package mini chocolate candies
3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
**For a healthier, but still delicious version, use 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour and 3/4 cup whole-wheat flour

Heat oven to 350.
In large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
In medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; blend in creamed mixture.
Stir in mini chocolate candies and nuts.
Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 1-13 minutes or until edges are lightly browned and centers are still soft.
Do not overbake.
Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; cool completely on wire racks.
