The Great Escape

My buddies messed up bad
when they made their big jail break,
Slipping out of Pa-pa’s backyard
to the creek the boys did take.

The escape was planned with care
as they each brought a flashlight,
They knew that where they
were going was dark as the blackest night.

For two boys scared of the dark
it was quite an accomplishment,
Though, going through the tunnels
was not time wisely spent.

Now, my buddies are grounded
they’re under house arrest,
I know what they did was dangerous
but isn’t it what little boys do best?
